OUR STORY

TWO LIFE LONG FRIENDS WITH ROOTS IN SOMERSET AND DORCHESTER COUNTY, CAME TOGETHER WITH AN INTERESTING CONCEPT ON PROVIDING QUALITY SEAFOOD DISHES IN WICOMICO COUNTY.  

 

THESE FRIENDS REALIZED THAT WICOMICO COUNTY LACKED RESTAURANTS THAT PROVIDE GOOD QUALITY EASTERN SHORE STYLE FOOD, WITH LOCAL  CRAB MEAT.  THEIR INTENT WAS TO PROVIDE DELICIOUS MEALS WITH A LAID BACK DINING SETTING.  AND THIS IS HOW THE INITIAL IDEA BEHIND “A SALT SHACK” TOOK SHAPE.

 

ONE OWNER HAS A DEEP LOVE FOR  SPORT FISHING.  HE SPENDS MOST OF HIS TIME ON HIS BOAT FISHING IN LOCAL TOURNAMENTS.  AFTER BEING ASKED HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN THE SPORT  COUNTLESS TIMES OVER THE YEARS HE REALIZED THAT MANY LOCAL PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO BOOK A CHARTER  SO HE CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO FEATURE A LOCAL BOAT AND CAPTAIN AT EACH DINING TABLE, TO HELP PROMOTE OUR LOCAL SPORT FISHERMAN AND INTRODUCE AS MANY PEOPLE AS HE COULD TO THE SPORT

 

THEIR LOVE FOR NEW ORLEANS AND THE NOLA STYLE OF FOOD HAS ALSO BEEN REFLECTED IN OUR MENU.  THE OWNERS HAVE SPENT QUITE A BIT OF TIME IN NEW ORLEANS AND WANTED TO BRING SOME OF THAT FOOD AND STYLE HOME WITH THEM BY OFFERING FRESH CAJUN INSPIRED FOOD OPTIONS.
